College!!

Well the day finally came...the day I was waiting for all summer....anxious, excited, sad....the day when I became the true meaning of the word adult...this day was the day when I moved out of my house and headed for college. This day was two Fridays ago, and I couldn't write about it till now because at first I hated it here and all I wanted to do was go home, but I knew that would eventually change so I figured I would wait till I was in better spirits. I am now in the middle of my second week at UCF and although I don't exactly love it yet, I am getting into the swing of things.
My dorm room is finally all decorated and I am starting to feel settled, it also helps that I now know how to get to all of my classes. I have used my free time to explore the Orlando area and I found some really cool places, I went to IKEA, I found the nicest mall I have ever seen(Rachel they have an UO!), and of course there is the whole Disney area here too! I have also explored the campus and I really like it, but I have to get used to all of the walking!
My classes are really great, I have Anthropology, History of the Human Species, History of motion pictures, and Hospitality Management. My favorite classes are the motion picture class and my hospitality class, Yesterday in my movie class we watched a two hour silent film called Sunrise and I absolutely loved it(FYI it won the first ever Academy Award) and in my hospitality class we are doing a group research project and my team is doing dinner theater and we picked The Medieval Knights dinner, so that project should be alot of fun! I also joined the Campus Activity Board here at school and they plan all of the special events so hopefully that will turn out to be something fun to get involved with! Other than that I don't have anything else exciting to share so I will leave you with some pics of my dorm! Thanks for listening, L3

Tropical Storm Fay : (

Tropical Storm Fay has been over us since last night. School is canceled for today.....there have been tornado warnings all day....and there were actually two tornadoes last night about a mile away from my house....cable went out......thank god we still have power though.....it has been raining non stop-I think we got over 6 inches already.....I am stuck in the house all day....conclusion....I really hate hurricane season...L3

Getting ready to go!

Today my mom and I went shopping for the last few things I need before I leave. And then for dinner we went to a really fun Asian restaurant called Stir Crazy! It is a cool concept because you get a bowl and then you go up to a counter where you pick the vegetables and sauce that you want and then they cook it right in front of you! So today was a really great day...and its the last Saturday before I leave! :( The time is just flying by! L3

It's been a while!!!

Sorry I haven't posted in a while..the past week has been pretty busy! My trip to Orlando was great..the drive was fine, I just listened to music and the 3 hours went by really fast! In Orlando I went to Islands of Adventure and Universal in the same day...I was wiped out! The rest of the time we just hung out at the resort...we went to the pool, played in the arcade, and even rented one of those dorky 4 person bikes!This is a picture of me and my friends Jamie and Cathy who I went to Orlando with.

And this is the bike that we rented..pretty dorky right...but it was fun!!

This week I also had an alone day with my Godmother Joyce so that we could spend some time together before I leave for college. It was a great day...we went shopping in downtown stuart and drove around for a bit and then we went to have dinner at the Crab House which is right on the water! It was a great day! Thanks Joyce!!! I <3 ya!

Good day!

Today was a really great day! I had breakfast with my family and then I went bowling with some friends! Even though I am horrible at bowling I really do enjoy it, especially with friends because we just laugh at each other!
Today was also an interesting day because I talked with my mom and she is going to let me drive to Orlando by myself on Tuesday to stay with some friends at a resort. I am excited about going but kind of nervous to drive so far by myself! It is the biggest step I have taken so far to becoming independent! I don't know how I will keep busy for 3 hours....I will probably just listen to some music and maybe a book on tape! So thats about all for now..wish me luck!! L3
